Priest In Charge - Father John Obenchain

I am semi-retired, serve part-time in this historic and lively parish and

I LOVE IT.

 

I was born and educated in Delaware Co. PA, attended Heidelberg College in Ohio, and graduated from the Philadelphia Divinity School in 1969, the year I was ordained to the Diaconate.  Ordained to the priesthood in 1970, I served parishes in Philadelphia and Upper Darby. I then moved to Chester County where I was Vicar and then Rector of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Oxford, PA from 1972 to 2000.  In that year I retired and served part time, then full time as Assistant Senior Minister at Church of the Advent, Kennett Square, PA until being appointed Priest-in-Charge at St. John's in Compass in 2008.

 

I am single, have 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.  I love our Lord, his beautiful creation - our planet - and people of all kinds!  If you want to know me better you are invited to worship here at historic St. John's on any Sunday and come down to the parish hall for coffee and fellowship.  May you be richly blessedby our loving God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
