 Children’s Christian Education

As the old familiar hymn says,

“We love to tell the story of Jesus and his glory”

Nursery is provided for infants during our regular Sunday worship service.  “Sunday School” is every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for all ages.  Children from 2 - 12 participate in “Godly Play” downstairs in the parish hall classrooms and join the congregation with their class to participate in Holy Eucharist upstairs in the sanctuary.

Godly Play is a method of Christian education and spiritual direction.  The goal is to teach children the art of using religious language – parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action to help them become aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.

Godly Play was developed by Episcopal priest, author, and teacher Jerome Berryman, and has been used for more than twenty years.  This method is currently being used by many denominations throughout the United States and Canada.

Each class follows the pattern of the church’s Sunday service.  Storytelling, art and music help children have a deeper understanding and enjoy fuller participation in parish worship.  A goal is to create a safe space where their ideas, opinions and gifts are deeply respected.

                                                Come join us!
